The days are noticeably getting shorter and on the water events are drawing to a close. At the end of this month, Saturday 28th, we have the Laying Up Supper with more details to follow shortly. As we start to think of the maintenance required on our boats, the RYA has very many useful articles and one that caught my eye was on the gas systems in a boat, which can so often be overlooked. The article can be found using this link

Between the 8th and 10th of September, we had the 25th Jersey Regatta sponsored by Carey Olsen. The lack of wind made it difficult, but the race teams did a great job in running the races. Well done to everyone involved and particularly to Bill Harris, as he has been Chair of every Regatta. This is the link to the report on Yachts and Yachting of the Combined Clubs Regatta

Over that weekend, we also had the Last Night of the Proms on the Saturday, which was a sell-out success. The Club was beautifully decorated for the event and well done to Susie and the Social Committee for making it the success it was.

It gives me great pleasure to be holding the Golden Members evening this month, and to celebrate that, we have 125 memberships of the Club, which are 50 years or over.

On the 18th of October, we will be hosting another Evening of Colour & Style with Jersey's leading colour & fashion stylists.including a one course dinner & glass of wine.

We also have the ever popular Rallye Hubert on Saturday 14th October, a pursuit race with a difference! There will be a quiz to test the knowledge of the crews and the Scavenger Hunt challenge in Granville to find M. Hubert.

We also have a new date for the postponed rally event to Granville, this being the weekend 7th  8th October. Places are limited so please call the office on 732229 to register.

We also have the conclusion of the Alex Bleasby Series, with Race 14 on Thursday 5th October. The series has attracted 23 boats, showing just how popular it is. Thank you to Peter Crabb, who took on the responsibility this year for running the event.

Our thoughts are already turning to next year and there will be a skippers meeting on Wednesday 11th October to discuss what has worked, what hasnt and to consider events for next year.

Your feedback is important to us about all the Club events, be that Rally, Social, the Club House and winter talks, so in addition please let Jason in the office know or use the online feedback form.
